This numbered silkscreen, #37/100, was created by the renowned artist Ikki Matsumoto in the late 1970s. Titled "Your Cousin or Mine?," this piece features Matsumoto's iconic and whimsical sandpipers minding their own business when a carload full of their family arrive for Summer vacation... at their place. It was recently acquired from a collector's estate and comes with a dated frame and mats that are not acid-free, so we recommend replacing them for preservation purposes. For more information on this sought-after secondary market piece, please read the info section.
Your Cousin or Mine? Vintage by Ikki Matsumoto
This is Ikki's daughter, Amy Matsumoto. I have been actively involved in my father's artwork since 1987. I have seeking out vintage Ikki's and restoring them to their original beauty, if possible. If you purchase from me, you can buy with confidence that the artwork is authentic, because I authenticate each piece as I clean them. I will emboss each piece and include a certificate of authenticity and a bio on Ikki.
Image Dimensions: 16" x 16" approx.
I have to wait until after May 1st, 2024 since the artwork is located in Seattle, WA and I have 50 plus pieces of artwork that I purchased and I'm going to fly out and rent a mini van and drive back across country. I'm having to wait, because it's Winter in the Northwest and I've never driven in the snow, so I need to wait, but the good news is if you pre-buy one of these estate pieces and you are along my travels home, then we can meet in person for you to get your artwork.
