Polly Adamson Matsumoto was born in Southern Ohio where she attended the Art Academy of Cincinnati.
She also studied weaving through courses offered by the Weavers Guild of Cincinnati.

Attending Arrowmont School of Crafts furthered Her education as well as numerous workshops with nationally known artists. After relocating to Florida in 1975, she studied Ceramics and jewelry design at Edison College.

Polly was one of the founders of the Barrier Island Group for the Arts on Sanibel Island, and helped to organize their annual arts and crafts fair, as well as their scholarship program.

In 1987 Polly and her husband Ikki opened their own gallery on Sanibel Island which they successfully operated for over thirteen years.

Polly has shown locally at The Alliance for the Arts in Fort Myers and at Big Arts located on Sanibel.

She has also exhibited at the Fitton Art Center in Hamilton, Ohio and The Sydney and Berne Davis Art Center in Ft Myers, FL.
